Introductory events

How we support our acupuncture students once they've graduated

We take pride in our warm and welcoming College - come and meet us!

Full day introductory events

Several times a year we have our full day introductory events. We aim for you to gain a good insight into what it is really like being an acupuncture student at the NCA. You will meet us, look round the College, see a demonstration of acupuncture and find out about the acupuncture courses. You will also hear about the history of the College and the latest news about research into acupuncture. One of the most popular slots of the day is a Q & A session with our current students. Also, to give you an insight into what it is like to actually practise as an acupuncturist, you will meet graduates who are in practice – normally one of our recent graduates and a graduate who has been practising for a few years. A delicious lunch is provided which is an opportunity for everyone to mingle and chat. These events are friendly and informal and a reflection of how we teach.

Short informal visits

If you cannot make the full day events we also have regular informal visits. These two hour sessions are a chance for you to look round the College, have your questions answered and observe a patient consultation in our teaching clinic.

Chance to meet us "one to one"

If the dates we offer are not convenient we are happy to arrange a one-to-one visit.

Interviews

If you have already sent us your application form you can arrange to have your interview after the introductory event or informal visit has finished. This is particularly useful if you are travelling to us from a distance. Just let us know that this is what you would like to do when you apply.

We warmly invite you to join us for the introductory events

Maxine Bell who started with us in 2015

"The introductory event is a well-structured introduction to the acupuncture courses. I particularly enjoyed the mix of speakers who brought insight into the reality of studying and practising acupuncture. I also enjoyed the practical demonstration. I am looking forward to starting with you in 2015."
